This morning we looked at the two forces dominating market psychology: Tariffs vs. One Trillion. Would the fear sell the market off? Or would Apple carry the market higher? The signal for the buy came about an hour before the bell. In this video, I will walk you through the setups and the trades, how and when we look for a number of specific setups each morning.
The idea that we have to be hanging on every bit of news in the financial markets is not true unless you absolutely love the macro game (with the price!) like I do. There are shortcuts. Here’s what I did this morning to set up the buy in the S&P and NASDAQ an hour before the bell.
Stock indexes had a fairly muted move in response to the 5% rally in AAPL and we still have reason to be cautious. If bulls are going to march higher from here, there’s 3 names I’m going to focus on buying.
AAPL held up well after an excellent earnings report, and they’re not done yet. We’ve opened a few trades on this one today and will be looking for more at the open tomorrow.

Sure the market is now focused on yesterday’s tariff rumor becoming fact today. The ratcheting up of 10% to 25% on the 200bln in Chinese goods – but there’s not real sell-off. Why?
