Lorna became a trader out of pure necessity – as a programmer for most of her working life, she traveled the world programming and teaching other programmers for various large companies. The more she traveled, the more she realized that currency exchange prices fluctuated wildly. This was when she realized she could be more efficient (and it would cost her a lot less!) if she understood the forex markets and could take advantage of the price fluctuations between her dollars and the currencies of the countries she regularly visited.

That is when she came across an amazing forex trader named Raghee Horner, a trader here at Simpler. She learned her system and kept up with her trade ideas on a few forums. She had also seen John Carter speak at a few live events and really liked his approach to trading and the psychological aspects he teaches. This fits nicely with what she had already learned from Raghee, and when she stopped traveling as much, she joined Simpler as a customer. Then, eventually, she joined the team! She aims to pay forward what she has learned from everyone at Simpler and help others on their own trading journey.

Heather’s trading journey began in 2015 with swing trading stocks. It was during the 2020 COVID lockdown that she discovered her passion for options trading. Drawn to Simpler Trading’s community, her first class with Allison Ostrander on Butterflies followed by John Carter’s Small Account class, which deeply resonated with her disciplined approach. Since joining Simpler Trading in 2023, Heather has worked closely with John Carter, evolving from behind-the-scenes support to a Content Provider in the Small Lot Trading room.

With a particular love for trading options on SPX Heather also trades futures and excels in both day and swing trading. Her favorite strategy is Butterflies, complemented by verticals, using tools like Squeeze Pro, Quant Pivots, Voodoo Lines, Fibonacci, and Spot Gamma to identify high-probability setups. Her trading philosophy hinges on disciplined risk management—sizing positions to withstand a full loss if markets gap unexpectedly—ensuring resilience in any scenario.

A strong advocate for journaling, Heather views it as a critical yet underrated tool for uncovering insights about markets and personal trading habits. In the Small Lot Trading room, she complements John Carter’s bold style with a less aggressive, smaller-sized approach, emphasizing emotional mastery and mindset. Through her detailed trade analysis for every trade she alerts, Heather takes complex strategies and breaks them down into clear, easy-to-understand lessons, guiding traders to build confidence and skill in their trading journey.

Born with a passion for gambling, Henry’s the absolute “zen master” when it comes to being a trader. Almost always level-headed, Henry provides the cool, calm, and collected side of trading - a side most traders struggle with for years. He is invaluable as the Lead Content Provider and a fantastic options trading mentor. With his daily tips and tricks, he helps traders see the analytical approach to trading and helps them find and define their edge in the markets.

During day-to-day trading, you can find Henry in the Simpler Showcase Trading Room. During his sessions he focuses heavily on market structure, new trade setups, and walking traders through open positions. A lot of traders enjoy listening to Henry as he really knows how to break down hard-to-understand macro topics to a finite, easy-to-digest level.

David is Simpler Trading’s “Mad Scientist.” He is the creator of the popular Voodoo Lines® and Ready, Aim, Fire! indicators. A trained theoretical mathematician who later took his MBA first in his class, he now trades full-time in addition to helping Simpler Trading clients achieve their own success. Many might consider David’s academic achievements and his experience as a strategic management consultant, building companies, and taking them public, to be some of the most respected as ideal preparation for success in financial markets. However, he is passionate about stressing that the key to trading success is understanding and managing one’s own emotions. David’s consulting clients prize his ability to provide customized insights into unique business situations.
